Game 4 of MFMHL Final Series @ Hartney Sunday, March 24th 2013
Mar 25, 2013, 9:23 am

GAME 4.......
This game on Sunday, March 24th, was the third time in the Series the winning team would secure the win by just one goal.
The Hartney Community Arena, by game time at 2:00pm was packed with a crowd of over 400. The Wildcat Fans came out in full force. Our dedicated longtime Town of Hartney fans, walking in with smiles on their faces as they went to their special seats ready to cheer for the Wildcat girls. The Wildcats themselves who come from 11 different communities, had family and friends ready to cheer on the Cats! Outside in the rink it wasn't hard to spot the many Wildcat Fans, who wore blue and cheering with a noise maker. Everyone excited with the Wildcats win in Morden on Friday, the Double OT game two days earlier in Hartney. This Series was not only proving to be a tight one, but showcasing the elite level of female hockey between the two teams. The whole Southwest Region proud of the Wildcats success this year in the MFMHL and playing in the Final.
Sunday's game was very well played by both teams with neither team giving nothing up defensively. Period 1 From the first face off, the Wildcats outplayed the Hawks and by the 12:04 mark had outshot them 6-0, with key chances at net but Hawks Brittnay Mowat was there. Kristen Campbell at the other end when the Hawks tried pressing. The Wildcats defended four powerplays in the period. After twenty minutes the shots were 10-6 in favor of the Cats. Period 2 The crowd watching the Wildcats with each shift on the ice, their determined effort against the Hawks. The Wildcats cheered after putting the puck in the net, but the Ref  signalled no goal since he blew the whistle just before. Both teams were pressing in the defensive zones. At 7:51 the Hawks got a wrist shot under the cross bar. When the period ended, it was 1-0 for the Hawks. Period 3 Saw the Wildcats playing desperate hockey every shift against now a defensive Hawks team. Wildcats 0 Hawks 1. Game Shots on Goal: Wildcats 26 Hawks 17
