Katie Crowe and Kenzie Robinson and Haley Wickham each had two goals and an assist. Jessica Walker and Brianna Williams each had a goal and an assist. , Aly O'Hara and Tori Williams each had singles. Camryn Clyne had three assists while Paige Hubbard had two. Andrea Sanderson, Shae Vallotton, Courtney Ganske, Ashley Seekings and Mackenzie Roach each had an assist. Westman had 41 shots to Interlake's 6. Kaitlyn Slator picked up the win in net. Oct 24, 2015, 10:38 pm The Wildcats were defeated 3-2 in a shootout tonight in Hartney. The 1st period was scoreless as Central Plains outshot Westman 5-4 and Westman hit two posts in the period. Westman had two penalties in the period to Central Plains one. The game opened up in the 2nd period. Central Plains got on the board first when a puck went off a linesman which led to a breakaway goal. They stretched the lead to 2-0 on a rebound goal when a point shot deflected off a Westman player and changed direction causing the goaltender difficulty. Westman pushed back hard and cut the lead in half as Courtney Ganske scored on the powerplay with a point shot, with the assists going to Ashton Bell and Kenzie Robinson. The Wildcats would tie the game four minutes later when McKenzie Meek scored on a deke in tight, with the assists going to Kenzie Robinson and Ashton Bell. The period would end 2-2. Westman outshot the Capitals 7-3 in the period. Westman took two minor penalties and Central Plains took one. In the 3rd period the Wildcats carried the play and had a number of quality opportunities to take the lead, including a number of good chances on the powerplay but the game remained tied. Westman outshot the Capitals 12-4. Central Plains took two minor penalties. Off to Overtime. The Wildcats pushed for the victory on the opening shift and carried the play but were called for a slashing penalty which led to a 4 on 3 powerplay for Central Plains. The Wildcats managed to kill it off and the overtime solved nothing. Central Plains outshot Westman 4-1 in the extra frame. The game would be settled in a Shootout as Central Plains outscored Westman 2-1. Final Shots on net were 24-16 in favour of Westman. Jenna Marshall suffered the loss in net. The Wildcats travel to Warren on Sunday to play Interlake. Oct 19, 2015, 7:59 pm The Wildcats fell 4-3 in overtime to the Winnipeg Avros in Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon. The Avros got out to a 1-0 lead on a powerplay goal despite being outshot 18-7 in the period. The Wildcats picked up the lone penalty in the period.
In the 2nd period, the Wildcats got on the board with 8:51 remaining in the period with a shot from the point by Katie Crowe, assisted by Jessica Walker. However, it was the Avros who again managed to go ahead with their 2nd powerplay goal of the game. Shots on goal in the period were 9-3 in favour of Westman. The Wildcats received 3 minor penalties to the Avros 1.
In the 3rd period, the Wildcats came out with plenty of jump and tied the game at 2 apiece at the 14:15 mark with Haley Wickham burying a rebound, assisted by Andrea Sanderson. They went ahead half a minute later when Courtney Ganske scored on a goal mouth scramble, assisted by Kenzie Robinson. After missing a couple of great opportunities, the Wildcats became over-aggressive and gave up a 2 on 1 that resulted in the Avros tying up the game. The Wildcats were then tagged with two late penalties that took away any momentum they had established and the game headed to overtime. Shots on net in the period were 5-4 in favour of Westman. The Wildcats were assessed 2 penalties and the Avros 1.
It did not take long in OT for the game to be settled as an unfortunate fall in the neutral zone led to an Avros goal on the breakaway.
The Wildcats were assessed 6 minor penalties to the Avros 2.
Final shots on net were 32-15 for Westman. Jenna Marshall suffered the loss in net. Oct 17, 2015, 11:30 pm Katie Crowe scored two goals (one on the powerplay) in the 3rd period to lead the Westman Wildcats to a 6-0 defeat of the Eastman Selects in St. Adolfe on Saturday night. Paige Hubbard and Mackenzie Meek each scored singles while Mackenzie Roach and Jaedon Cooke each scored shorthanded goals. Aly O'Hara, Kenzie Robinson, Jessica Walker, Paige Hubbard, Jaedon Cooke and Mackenzie Meek each picked up assists. The Wildcats took 7 minors to Eastman's 4.
Westman outshot Eastman 26-13. Katie Slator picked up the win in net. Oct 11, 2015, 4:50 pm The Wildcats hosted the Winnipeg Avros in the second game of their weekend series. As expected, the Avros came out with a lot of intensity and pushed the pace of the game with speed and physical play. The Wildcats weathered the storm early on and were able to begin to take control of the play as the period went on. Both teams were held off the scoresheet with the Wildcats outshooting the Avros 8-2. In the 2nd period the Wildcats really began to press on the forechecking and go to the net hard. Their work ethic paid off as McKenzie Meek scoredsix minutes into the period on a rebound during a goal mouth scramble (assisted by Kenzie Robinson) to make it 1-0. Andrea Sanderson stretched the lead to 2-0 three minutes later on the powerplay. The Avros would get one back on a powerplay of their own in the last minute of the period. Shots on goal in the period were 13-2 in favour of Westman.
The 3rd period saw neither team score with the Wildcats outshooting the Avros 7-5.
Final score was 2-1 for Westman. Shots were 28-9 in favour of Westman. Jenna Marshall picked up the victory. Oct 10, 2015, 10:33 pm After another successful Westman Wildcats Jamboree in which the Wildcats hosted 74 registered camp attendees the team took to the ice to face the Winnipeg Avros Saturday night in Hartney. The Wildcats came out flying in the 1st period and jumped out to an early lead 3 minutes into the period when Jaedon Cooke (assisted by Courtney Ganske and Kenzie Robinson) scored on a rebound to make it 1-0. Ashton Bell made it 2-0 four minutes later on a breakaway, assisted by Courtney Ganske. The Wildcats stretched the lead to 3-0 four minutes later as McKenzie Meek scored on the powerplay, assisted by Mackenzie Roach and Shae Vallotton. The Avros made it 3-1 on a powerplay goal of their own with four minutes remaining in the period. But the Wildcats responded with their fourth goal and second powerplay goal of the period as Tori Williams scored off a shot from the half wall, assisted by Courtney Ganske and Ashton Bell. Hots on goal in the period were 12-2 in favour of Westman. In the 2nd period the Wildcats stretched their lead to 5-1 on Jaedon Cooke's second goal of the game, assisted by Kenzie Robinson. Shots in the 2nd period were 8-2 in favour of Westman.
The 3rd period was scoreless. Shots on goal were 8-3 in favour of Westman.
The Wilcats took 6 minor penalties to the Avros 5.
Final shots on net were 28-7 in favour of Westman.

Oct 4, 2015, 3:42 pm The Wildcats defeated Norman 5-0 on Sunday to sweep the weekend series. Jaedon Cooke got it started early with a quick shot off a great pass from Kenzie Robinson. That was all the Wildcats would get though in the period outshooting the Wild 15-1. In the 2nd period the Wildcats pushed hard and were rewarded with two goal in the first ten minutes of the period. The first came when Andrea Sanderson jammed home a rebound with the assists going to Mackenzie Roach and Courtney Ganske. The second goal of the period was scored by Mackenzie Meek, unassisted. Shots on goal in the period were 25-7 in favour of Westman.
In the 3rd period, Ashton Bell scored a pair of goals, the first assisted by Shae Vallotton and the second assisted by Mackenzie Roach and Andrea Sanderson. Shots in the period were 13-6 in favour of Westman.
Final shots on net were 54-14. Kaitey Slator picked up the shutout victory in net.
The Wildcats practice this Tuesday and Wednesday before hosting their annual Jamboree on Saturday prior to two games versus the Winnipeg Avros on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. |
