Wildcats Head Coach announced for 2018-2019 season

Congratulations to all the Midget and Bantam Wildcats named to Team Toba Rosters

The Westman Wildcats would like to congratulate Paige Hubbard (Brandon), Aly O'Hara (Chater) and Gilly Gervin (Boissevain) on their invitation to the Team Toba U18 Top 40 Camp in May in Portage La Prairie, MB.  This camp is part of the process to determine the team that will represent Manitoba in the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta.

The Wildcats would also like to congratulate Shaylee Scraba (Souris), Charly Lindberg (Brandon) and Jori Hansen-Young (Brandon) from the AAA Midget team and Natalie Williamson (Brandon) and Kristin Rink (Melita) from the Bantam AAA Wildcats on their invitation to the Team Toba U16 Top 40 Camp in May in Portage La Prairie, MB.  This camp is part of the process to determine the team that will represent Manitoba in the 2018 Manitoba/Saskatchewan series in September.

Congratulations, ladies, the future looks bright.

 


Wildcat Spring Camp revised Schedule

Due to the incredible response to our spring camp this year, we have decided to go with a 3 team round robin for the spring camp starting tomorrow.  This means that two teams will register at 6:30 and the third will register at 7:00.  Games will be 35 minutes straight time with a flood after each period.  5-minute warmup prior to each game.

Westman Wildcats Spring Prospects Camp

 

The Spring Prospects Camp will be held on April 9th and 11th at Hartney Arena. It is open to all players born 2001-2005.

 Times:

Monday, April 9th:

6:30 pm – registration and off ice warm up

7:30 pm -- Inter-squad game

 

Wednesday, April 11th

7:30 pm – Inter-squad game

 

Cost $30.00, cheques may be made payable to Westman Wildcats

Paige Hubbard scored the winning goal with 3:25 remaining in overtime to lead the Wildcats to a 3-2 overtime victory over the Pembina Valley Hawks on Sunday afternoon.

Walker Commits to Lindenwood University

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Jessica Walker, a 3rd year Wildcat from Carberry, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Lindenwood University - Belleville Lynx in the fall of 2018. 

 In 28 league games last year Jessica had 1 goal, 5 assists for 6 points. Overall, in 58 games last season, Jessica scored 1 goal and added 10 assist for 11 points. This season, in 28 league games she has 16 assists. In 51 games overall this season she has recorded 2 goals and 23 assists for 25 points.  Overall, during her Wildcats career, Jessica has played in 173 games and recorded 4 goals and 43 assists for 47 points.

From Coach Hannah of the Lynx, “Jessica has great vision, solid gap control, composure with and without the puck, makes a good first pass out of the zone and has exceptional character and attitude.  We are really looking forward to making this official.
