Jan 30, 2023, 10:32 am The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Hayley Kolosky, a 4th year Wildcats forward from Brandon, MB who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens in the fall of 2023. Hayley plans to complete a degree in Psychology. In 146 career games with the Wildcats over the past 4 seasons, Hayley has 49 goals, 48 assists for a total of 97 points. This season, in 24 league games, she has 18 goals and 11 assists for 29 points. From Coach Coulter of the Red Deer Queens, “Queens hockey is thrilled to add Hayley to our roster. We feel her compete level, hockey sense, and scoring touch make us a stronger squad going forward. We are excited to see her wear the Crown next season. We believe we have added not only an exceptional player, but also an outstanding person who brings leadership qualities to our team. ” Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP), formerly Red Deer College, is a public comprehensive polytechnic institute of approximately 7,500students in credit programs and 10,000 in non-credit programming located in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Jan 5, 2023, 10:40 am The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Brooklyn Franklin, a 3rd year Wildcats forward from Chater, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Assiniboine Cougars in the fall of 2023. Brooklyn plans to enroll in the Social Service Work Program. In 86 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Brooklyn has amassed 28 goals, 29 assists for a total of 57 points.This season, in 18 league games, Brooklyn has 6 goals and 9 assists. From Coach Bertone of the Cougars, “We are very happy to Brooklyn join our college. She checked off all the boxes, being academically strong, she brings a strong work ethic to every game, she will fill our needs for next season offensively and will play powerplay and penalty kill.” Assiniboine Community College (ACC) is a community college in Manitoba, Canada. It is accredited by the Manitoba Council on Post-Secondary Education, created by the government of Manitoba. ACC offers over 30 programs in the fields of agriculture, environment, business, health and human services and trades and technology. Paige plans to complete a degree in Physical Education. In 87 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Paige has 21 goals, 22 assists for a total of 43 points. This season, in 15 league games, she has 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points. From Coach Miner of the MSU Beavers, “We are excited to welcome Paige to our program for the upcoming season. I have had the opportunity to follow Paige’s career for quite some time and always felt she would be a great fit in a Beaver uniform. She has a skill set that sets her apart from those around her. Her skating ability and hockey IQ is top notch, and she has the ability to put the puck in the net under pressure. Nov 29, 2022, 1:42 pm The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Sophia Anderson, a 3rd year Wildcats forward from Glenboro, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Manitoba Bisons in the fall of 2023. Sophia intends to enroll in the Sciences Department. So far in her Wildcats career Sophia has played a total of 73 games and scored19 goals 25 assists for a total of 44 points. In league play this year, Sophia, the Wildcats team captain, has 7 goals and 6 assists in 15 games. From Coach Rempel of the Bisons, “Sophia is an all around 200 ft player who can play in a variety of situations and positions. Her ability to integrate herself with her teammates, her work ethic, her habits both on and off the puck and her leadership abilities will be a very good addition to our team. Nov 10, 2022, 7:35 pm The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Grace Glover, a 3rd year Wildcats goaltender from Boissevain, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Alberta Pandas in the fall of 2023. Grace has applied for both the Elementary Education program and the Kinesiology and Education Combined program. So far in her Wildcats career Grace has a 1.64 Goals Against Average and a Save Percentage of 0.934. During the Wildcats Championship run last season she had a 9-1 playoff record with a 1.56 GAA and a 0.941 Save Percentage, en route to being named Playoff MVP. From Coach Draper of the Pandas, “We're very excited about bringing Grace into our Pandas family. It's important to us to bring in young people that are committed to growing academically, athletically and as people. It's obvious that Grace strives for excellence in all areas. On the ice, she is a quick agile goalie that possesses a tremendous work ethic and internal desire to improve. She excels in the classroom and, during her visit, she had a positive impact on her future teammates.
