The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Kelsey Huibers, a 3rd year Wildcats forward from Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Manitoba Bisons in the fall of 2024. Kelsey intends to enroll in the University 1 her first year.

So far in her Wildcats career Kelsey has played a total of 136 games and scored 39 goals and 38 assists for a total of 77 points. In league play this year, Kelsey, the Wildcats team captain, has 2 goals and 5 assists in 13 games. Kelsey was a member of the 2021-22 MFHL u18 AAA Provincial Champions Wildcats team. She also represented Team Manitoba at the 2023 u18 National Championships.

From Coach Zacharias of the Bisons, “We are so excited to have Kelsey join our program! Kelsey brings a level of compete and tenacity that will be a huge asset to our program. Seeing her grow as a leader over the past few years and ability to play multiple roles is something we look forward to seeing at the USport level.”

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Karlyn Gudz, a 3rd year Wildcats forward from Brandon, MB who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Minot State University Beavers in the fall of 2024. Karlyn intends to pursue a Physical Education Teaching Degree.

In 127 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 season, Karlyn has amassed 21 goals, 29 assists for a total of 50 points. This season, in 13 league games, she has 3 assists. Karlyn was a member of the 2021-22 MFHL u18 AAA Provincial Championship Wildcats team. She also represented Team Manitoba at the 2023 u18 National Championships. She is an Assistant Captain on this year’s Wildcats squad.

From Coach Miner of the MSU Beavers, “We are excited to add Karlyn to our roster for the upcoming season? She brings a well-rounded style of play to the ice, using her skill to contribute offensively while still having the ability to battle and work. Being in a leadership role, I look forward to Karlyn bringing those qualities over to our program as well.”

Minot State University (MSU or MiSU) is a four-year institution of higher learning in Minot, North Dakota. Founded in 1913 as a normal school, Minot State University is the third-largest university in North Dakota, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Three colleges comprise the university’s academic offerings: Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education and Health Sciences. Nine master's degrees and one education specialist degree are offered in such areas as communication disorders, management, and mathematics. 

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Hallie Franklin, a 3rd year Wildcats defenseman from Deloraine, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in the fall of 2024. The Huskies compete in the Canada West Conference of uSport. Hallie plans to pursue a degree in Psychology or Kinesiology.

In 117 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Hallie has accumulated 10 goals, 42 assists for a total of 52 points. In 57 career league games, Hallie has amassed 3 goals and 20 assists for 23 points. Hallie was a member of Team Manitoba at the 2023 Canada Games in Charlottetown, PE. She will also be representing Manitoba at the National u18 Championships this November in Dawson Creek, BC.

From Coach Kook of the Huskies, “We’re excited to have Hallie join our program. We’ve had a lot of opportunities to watch Hallie play over the past couple years and she’ll fit great within our team structure. Her skating ability allows her to make great plays on both sides of the puck.”

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Addi Vines, a 3rd year Wildcats defenseman from Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Manitoba Bisons in the fall of 2024. The Bisons compete in the Canada West Conference of uSport. Addi plans to work towards her Masters in School Psychology.

In 107 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Addi has accumulated 8 goals, 22 assists for a total of 30 points. In 50 league games over her first two seasons, Addi has amassed 1 goal and 11 assists for 12 points.

From Coach Rempel of the Bisons, “Addi is a person and player that fits well into our program’s philosophy and principles of play.  Her hockey IQ, poise and competitiveness will serve her well at the University level.  We look forward to having her as part of the Bison family.”

Open to: Westman Area Female Hockey Players born 2006-2009

Registration Fee:  $100 (to be paid by etransfer before September 1st or in cash or cheque at the first ice session on Friday, September 1st)

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Billie Baranyk of Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Assiniboine Cougars in the fall of 2023. Billie plans to enroll in the Health Care Aid Program.

In 42 games this year with the Wildcats Billie had 14 goals and 10 assists for a total of 24 points.In 5 games in the 2020-21 season Billie registered 1 goal and 1 assist.

From Coach Bertone of the Cougars, “Billie brings a lot of energy, passion, team first attitude to a game! She is a power forward who will take pucks to the net and has the ability to score goals. Billie is a player who has a good understanding of the game and will play big minutes with our team because of her desire to want the puck and find teammates.”

ACC offers over 30 programs in the fields of agriculture, environment, business, health and human services and trades and technology.

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Payton Murray, a 2^nd year Wildcats goaltender from Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Assiniboine Community College Cougars in the fall of 2023. Payton intends to enroll in the Early Childhood Development program.

So far in her Wildcats career, Payton has a 2.49 Goals Against Average and a Save Percentage of 0.900. In 18 games this season, Payton had a 1.75 GAA and a 0.925 Save Percentage.
