Hallie Franklin University of Saskatchewan Commitment

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Hallie Franklin, a 3rd year Wildcats defenseman from Deloraine, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in the fall of 2024. The Huskies compete in the Canada West Conference of uSport. Hallie plans to pursue a degree in Psychology or Kinesiology.

In 117 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Hallie has accumulated 10 goals, 42 assists for a total of 52 points. In 57 career league games, Hallie has amassed 3 goals and 20 assists for 23 points. Hallie was a member of Team Manitoba at the 2023 Canada Games in Charlottetown, PE. She will also be representing Manitoba at the National u18 Championships this November in Dawson Creek, BC.

From Coach Kook of the Huskies, “We’re excited to have Hallie join our program. We’ve had a lot of opportunities to watch Hallie play over the past couple years and she’ll fit great within our team structure. Her skating ability allows her to make great plays on both sides of the puck.”

The University of Saskatchewan (U of S, or USask) is a Canadian public research university, founded on March 19, 1907, and located on the east side of the South Saskatchewan River in SaskatoonSaskatchewan, The university offers over 200 academic programs.

 

 

               


Addison Vines University of Manitoba Commitment

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Addi Vines, a 3rd year Wildcats defenseman from Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the University of Manitoba Bisons in the fall of 2024. The Bisons compete in the Canada West Conference of uSport. Addi plans to work towards her Masters in School Psychology.

In 107 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Addi has accumulated 8 goals, 22 assists for a total of 30 points. In 50 league games over her first two seasons, Addi has amassed 1 goal and 11 assists for 12 points.

From Coach Rempel of the Bisons, “Addi is a person and player that fits well into our program’s philosophy and principles of play.  Her hockey IQ, poise and competitiveness will serve her well at the University level.  We look forward to having her as part of the Bison family.”

U18 Westman Wildcats AAA Tryout Registration is OPEN

Tryout Dates: 

Friday, September 1st from 6:00-9:00pm

Saturday, September 2nd from 1:30-4:00pm & 7:00-9:30pm

Sunday, September 3rd from 1:30-4:00pm

Location:  Souris Glenwood Arena, Souris, MB

Open to: Westman Area Female Hockey Players born 2006-2009

Registration Fee:  $100 (to be paid by etransfer before September 1st or in cash or cheque at the first ice session on Friday, September 1st)

Baranyk commits to Assiniboine Community College

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Billie Baranyk of Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Assiniboine Cougars in the fall of 2023. Billie plans to enroll in the Health Care Aid Program.

In 42 games this year with the Wildcats Billie had 14 goals and 10 assists for a total of 24 points.In 5 games in the 2020-21 season Billie registered 1 goal and 1 assist.

From Coach Bertone of the Cougars, “Billie brings a lot of energy, passion, team first attitude to a game! She is a power forward who will take pucks to the net and has the ability to score goals. Billie is a player who has a good understanding of the game and will play big minutes with our team because of her desire to want the puck and find teammates.”

Assiniboine Community College (ACC) is a community college in Manitoba, Canada. It is accredited by the Manitoba Council on Post-Secondary Education, created by the government of Manitoba.

ACC offers over 30 programs in the fields of agriculture, environment, business, health and human services and trades and technology.

 


Murray commits to Assiniboine Community College

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Payton Murray, a 2nd year Wildcats goaltender from Brandon, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Assiniboine Community College Cougars in the fall of 2023. Payton intends to enroll in the Early Childhood Development program.

So far in her Wildcats career, Payton has a 2.49 Goals Against Average and a Save Percentage of 0.900. In 18 games this season, Payton had a 1.75 GAA and a 0.925 Save Percentage.

From Coach Bertone of the Cougars, “What caught our eye about Payton was her competitiveness/athleticism between the pipes and she is always tracking the puck. We’re excited for Payton to come our way!”
