KRISTI-LYN POLLOCK- 4TH year- NCAA Colgate University Raiders- Defense- #24 GP- 5 G-0 A- 1 Total pts- 1 PIM- 2 This was Kristi-Lyn’s final season with Colgate, a frustrating finish to her college career as she missed a lot of games the last 2 seasons with concussion issues. NELLIE MINSHULL- 4TH year- CIS University of Manitoba Bisons- Forward-# 9 GP- 24 G-11 A- 10 Total pts-21 PIM- 18 Nellie is heading into her 5th season with the Bisons next year and hopes to finish her career with a bang. BRITTANY PHILLIPS- 3rd year- NCAA Colgate University Raiders- Forward- #21 GP- 31 G- 13 A- 16 Total pts- 29 PIM- 79 Brittany will be entering her final season with Colgate and hopes to help the team improve on a tough year. AMY LEE- 3rd year- CIS University of Manitoba Bisons- Forward- #4 GP- 24 G- 2 A-6 Total pts- 8 PIM- 14 Amy will be in her 4th year next season with the Bisons and she hopes to get the team back into the playoffs after a disappointing season. TARA LACQUETTE- 3rd year- CIS University of Manitoba Bisons- Goaltender- #35 GP- 11 GA- 22 GAA- 2.05 SV%- 0.908 Shutout- 1 Tara has completed 3 years with the U of M Bisons and will be transferring to Toronto University next year. JENNA MARIE DURNIN- 3RD year- CIS University of Lethbridge Pronghorns- Forward-#9 GP- 26 G- 8 A- 12 Total pts- 20 PIM- 22 Jenna will be in her 4th year next season and the Pronghorns will be expecting more offence out of her again if they hope to to advance further into the playoffs. LAURA WILLIAMS- 3rd year- ACAC Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Ooks- Forward- #4 GP- 24 G- 1 A- 3 Total pts- 4 PIM- 10 This was Laura’s 3RD and final season with the NAIT Ooks and will be missed as she was a leader on and off the ice. BRANDI POLLOCK- 2nd year- NCAA Robert Morris University Colonials- Defense-#28 GP- 31 G- 1 A- 5 Total pts- 6 PIM-22 Brandi will be in her 3rd year next season with RMU. Brandi and the Colonials had a real breakthrough season this past winter and hope to improve on that this season. KELSIE SCOTT- 2nd year- NCAA Minnesota State Mavericks – Forward- #7 GP- 36 G- 1 A- 2 Total pts- 3 PIM-42 Kelsie will be going into her 3RD season next year as she and the Mavericks hope she can have a breakout season offensively. TEAL CROSSON- 2nd year- NCAA University of Wisconsin- Superior Yellowjackets- Fwd/Defense-#22 GP- 28 G- 1 A- 3 Total pts- 4 PIM-8 Teal will be in her 3rd year next season and was a versatile player for UWS playing both forward and defense. MEGAN BAILEY- 2ND year- CIS University of Lethbridge Pronghorns- Forward- #6 GP- 26 G- 3 A- 3 Total pts- 6 PIM-6 Megan has completed 2 years with the Pronghorns and is looking to have a break out year next year. SHERYL KASKIW- 2ND year- NCAA University of Wisconsin- Superior Yellowjackets- Defense- #10 GP- 28 G- 2 A- 19 Total pts-21 PIM-18 Sheryl will be going into her 3rd year next season. Sheryl had a real breakout season offensively this year. BRIGETTE LACQUETTE- 1ST year- NCAA University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs- Defense-#88 Brigette will be entering her 2nd year next season with the Bulldogs and was an offensive contributor in her freshman year. SARAH WILLIAMS- 1ST year- ACAC Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Trojans –Defense-#2 GP- 24 G-3 A-3 Total pts-6 PIM-50 Sarah finished her 1st year with SAIT and was a contributor offensively and as well provided a physical presence. KIARA DEKEZEL- 1st year- NCAA University of Wisconsin- Superior Yellowjackets- Forward- #18 GP- 27 G- 10 A- 13 Total pts- 23 PIM-12 Kiara completed her 1st year with the Yellowjackets and had a solid season at both ends of the rink. KAYLEIGH CHAPMAN- 1ST year- NCAA Bemidji State University Beavers – Defense- # 27 GP- 28 G-0 A-2 Total pts- 2 PIM-12 Kayleigh finished her 1st year with Bemidji . It was a very solid season for both Kayleigh and the team. Mar 24, 2012, 1:31 pm The coaching staff did a great job making the two teams at the Annual Prospects camp very even as the inter-squad game went down to the final buzzer with Team Blue hitting the cross bar trying to tie it up and force the game to a shootout. However Team White came from behind and came out ahead for a final score of 3-2. Scoring for Team White with two goals was KJ Wallace of Oak Lake. Chipping in with one of her own was Teagan Pringle of Glenboro. Kirkup assisted on the first and last goals for Team White. Scoring for Team Blue, to get the early lead, was Jessica Vallotton of Ninette with assists going to Magwood and Elise Badiou of Wawanesa. Magwood rounded out the scoring late in the 3rd period for Team Blue. Well this wraps up the Westman Wildcats Annual Prospects camp for another year and by the look of how young and how good the players coming out of Peewee and bantam are, the future looks very bright for the Wildcat organization. Never be satisfied current and future Wildcats. We will see you in the fall. Mar 23, 2012, 12:16 pm Westman Wildcats Prospect Camp 2012 The pace at the second inter-squad game of the Spring Prospect camp was a lot quicker as the players were getting comfortable with each other.Team Blue beat Team White 4-2. Jaycee Magwood of Killarney scored 4 unanswered goals after Team White got out to a 2-0 lead. Team Blue forward Keisha Robertson of Virden had a nice assist on Magwood's second goal. Pacing Team White's attack was Karissa Kirkup of Virden with a goal and an assist. Scoring her first goal of the Prospects was Haley Husmann of Fairfax going to the net and burying a rebound from a shot from the point. Also picking up an assist on Kirkup’s first goal was Jossa Danis of Brandon.In the second period goalie Rachelle Lougheed of Melita made a spectacular save on Lexie Kalynuk of Virden to keep the score close. Kaitlyn Crowe of Deloraine and Brianna Williams of Souris were very solid defensively for their respective teams.
The Final matchup goes Friday night at 7:30. This is the last chance for the girls to make a goodimpression to the coaching staff before tryouts in September.Mar 22, 2012, 9:17 am It was a fun night had by all current and future Wildcats at the first of three Spring Prospect inter-squad games. Former Wildcat Kiara De Kezel put the players through some drills before Team Blue battled Team White. Kiara is home for the USA spring break before heading back to the University of Wisconsin Superior to start the last semester. She plays hockey there for the NCAA Division 3 Yellowjackets. She had a great first year playing some high caliber hockey.
Team White beat Team Blue 3-1. Karissa Kirkup scored 2 for Team White and Teagan Pringle rounded out the scoring. Jaycee Magwood got the lone goal for Team Blue. Kristen Campbell and Rachelle Lougheed were busy in the nets stopping numerous high caliber scoring chances. 32 players took part in the first night of action. The Wildcat program has a very good future with a lot of quality young hockey players coming up. If you still want to come to camp, the sessions start at 7:30 on both Thursday and Friday night. Just show up and the organizers will get you on a team.Please note for Thursday. Special guest speaker and former Wildcat coach Dwight Pollock will be discussing the opportunities that are available for female hockey players beyond the midget level.
