Belle Hobbs started the comeback early in the 3rd period with a blistering shot off the post and off an Eastman player and into the net. Shaylee Scraba followed up with a beautiful finish off a 2 on 1 pass from Jori Hansen-Young just after the end of a penalty kill. Krissy Rink finished it off with an insurance marker with 1:47 remaining in the game. Natalie Williamson picked up the win in net stopping 20 of 21 shots. The Wildcats now move on to the league semi-final against the first place Winnipeg Avros. Game 1 goes Friday night in Winnipeg at the Seven Oaks Arena. Anne. Both teams traded 1st period goals and the 2nd period was scoreless, leading to a hard fought 3rd period. Unfortunately, the Wildcats gave up a couple of tough goals and were unable to bury on a few outstanding chances. Charly Lindberg picked up the lone goal for the Wildcats. Despite a furious push to score the equalizer in the fall couple minutes with the net empty, the Wildcats were unable to tie the game and send it to overtime. The Wildcats had numerous quality chances of their own, with multiple odd man rushes in the opening period and a crossbar. Jillian Szabo suffered the loss in net. Jensen Shearer was the hero in overtime as her shot from the high slot made its way through a incredible traffic and found its way across the goal line. The Wildcats gave up an even strength goal in the 2nd period and a Powerplay goal midway through the 3rd period. Natalie Williamson suffered the loss in net. The Wildcats will not have to wait long for the rematch as they host Eastman in game 1 of the league 1st round series on Wednesday night in Hartney.
