The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Jessica Walker, a 3^rd year Wildcat from Carberry, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Lindenwood University - Belleville Lynx in the fall of 2018. 

 In 28 league games last year Jessica had 1 goal, 5 assists for 6 points. Overall, in 58 games last season, Jessica scored 1 goal and added 10 assist for 11 points. This season, in 28 league games she has 16 assists. In 51 games overall this season she has recorded 2 goals and 23 assists for 25 points.  Overall, during her Wildcats career, Jessica has played in 173 games and recorded 4 goals and 43 assists for 47 points.

From Coach Hannah of the Lynx, “Jessica has great vision, solid gap control, composure with and without the puck, makes a good first pass out of the zone and has exceptional character and attitude.  We are really looking forward to making this official.”

 Lindenwood University - Belleville is a private, four-year liberal arts university. It is a full-fledged, standalone sister college of Lindenwood University with an enrollment around 2,300 students.^[2] Lindenwood Belleville is located in Belleville, Illinois and occupies the campus that was formerly Belleville West High School. Lindenwood Belleville offers a day program, as well as evening programs for working adults. Lindenwood Belleville offers both bachelor's and master's degree programs in biology, psychology, education and educational administration, business administration, human resource management, corporate communication, and criminal justice.

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Haley Wickham, a 3^rd year Wildcat from Waskada, MB, who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Minot State University Beaver in the fall of 2018. 

 In 28 league games last year Haley had 6 goals, 2 assists for 8 points. Overall, in 58 games last season, Haley scored 9 goals and added 5 assist for 14 points. This season, in 30 league games Haley has 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points. In 53 games overall this season she has recorded 7 goals and 12 assists for 19 points.  Overall, during her Wildcats career, Haley has played in 175 games and recorded 26 goals and 23 assists for 49 points.

From Coach Miner of the MSU Beavers, “I am thrilled to have Haley join the team next season. Haley's speed and competitiveness will give her that edge as an incoming freshman.  She will get a chance to play an important role and I am confident that she will excel both on the ice, and in the classroom.”

Minot State University (MSU or MiSU) is a four-year institution of higher learning in Minot, North Dakota. Founded in 1913 as a normal school, Minot State University is the third-largest university in North Dakota, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs.  Three colleges comprise the university’s academic offerings: Arts and Sciences, Business, and Education and Health Sciences. Nine master's degrees and one education specialist degree are offered in such areas as communication disorders, management, and mathematics. 

Cammy Clyne scored a shorthanded goal and goalie Jenna Marshall saved her best effort for the series clinching game as the Wildcats defeated the Capitals 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in Hartney.

The Wildcats now await the winner of the Pembina Valley-Interlake series.

After a slow start to the game that saw the Capitals take a 1-0 lead, the Wildcats found their game and exploded for 5 unanswered goals in just over 10 minutes en route to a 7-2 victory over the Capitals on Saturday afternoon in Portage La Prairie.

Game 3 goes on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM in Hartney.

It was a wild 1st period in Hartney on Wednesday night as the Wildcats and the Capitals combined for 6 goals with the Wildcats holding a 4-2 lead at the end of the period. There would be no more scoring until an empty netter with 36 seconds to play as the Wildcats won the opening game of the series by a score of 5-2. 

The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Westman Wildcats' forward Paige Hubbard has been selected as the CCM-Selkirk Source for Sports Player of the Week ending February 11.

Hubbard, a grade 11 student from Brandon playing in her 3rd year with the Wildcats, had 5 points during the week. Hubbard scored 3 goals and added an assist in the Wildcats 7-1 victory over the Interlake Lightning on Saturday. Hubbard then scored the opening goal on Sunday afternoon during the Wildcats' OT win against the Lightning. Hubbard has committed to play hockey with the Regina Cougars in the 2019-20 season.

Aly O'Hara scored the tying goal with 10:28 remaining in the game and the winner just over a minute into overtime to lead the Wildcats to a 3-2 victory over Interlake on Sunday afternoon in Hartney. Paige Hubbard scored the other goal for the Wildcats.
