Marlie Rutherford Commits to Minot State University
Feb 10, 2024, 9:03 am

The Westman Wildcats would like to extend its congratulations to Marlie Rutherford, a 3rd year Wildcats forward from Glenboro, MB who has committed to attend school at, and play hockey with, the Minot State University Beavers in the fall of 2024. Marlie plans to complete a degree in Physical Education.

In 131 career games with the Wildcats over the past 3 seasons, Marlie has 27 goals, 30 assists for a total of 57 points. This season Marlie has truly excelled, in 24 league games, she has pushed into the top 15 in scoring with 9 goals and 10 assists for 19 points.

From Coach Miner of the MSU Beavers, “We are excited to welcome Marlie to our program for the upcoming season! She is a dynamic player with a strong offensive mindset, but still plays a full 200 foot game. She will fit well into our system and fill a gap that will open up losing a couple of our graduating seniors. I look forward to seeing her step on the ice and contributing to the success of our program.”

Minot State University (MSU or MiSU) is a four-year institution of higher learning in Minot, North Dakota. Founded in 1913 as a normal school, Minot State University is the third-largest university in North Dakota, offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
